Basic Physics Laws For Everyone

Physics tries to explain the phenomena happening all around us. The major contribution of physics can be seen in electricity, fluid mechanics and the motion of particles. Even household appliances such as a refrigerator and air conditioner functions due to the laws of thermodynamics. Below we will be seeing a few.

THEORY OF RELATIVITY

Another such equation which is used in the field of physics is the theory of relativity, which goes E=mc2. This equation was given to us by Einstein which states that matter and energy are equivalent to each other. This theory helped us in understanding the origins and structure of the universe. General relativity shows gravity as a curving and folding of space and time itself. Special relativity shows that the speed of light is the universal speed limit.

THEORY OF UNCERTAINTY

There have been major developments in the field of quantum mechanics and in there quantum numbers have been based on the theory of uncertainty which was named after the scientist Heisenberg and tells that position and velocity of objects cannot be measured at the same time. The equation is  ΔpΔx≥h4π where Δ is uncertainty in that variable and h is the Planck’s constant.

LAWS OF MOTION

Another significant discovery of the phenomena was conducted by Einstein and led a massive development of physics by formulating the laws of motion which contain three fundamental laws which go:

  • A body continues to be at rest or in motion until an external force acts upon it.
  • Every action has an equal or opposite reaction.
  • Force equals to mass times acceleration which is represented by F=ma, m= mass of the object, a= acceleration

LAWS OF THERMODYNAMICS

There were several scientists who did a significant contribution in thermodynamics such as Nicolas Leonard Sadi Carnot who found out the efficiency of the engine which was named after him as Carnot engine. Lord Kelvin discovered the definition of thermodynamics which is termed as the relation of heat to forces acting on the bodies contagious to each other.

There are more physics concepts such as the Ohm’s Law, oscillations, reflection, astrophysics etc which have their own formulas and theory concepts and will open up the doors for the universe for learners. Visit BYJU’s YouTube channel to learn more about Science.
